You accomplished perfection! I highly recommend you and will make myself available to respond to inquiries from prospective patients. No web-page ratings adequately communicate what patients need to know. It's been a long five years but the outcome was worth the many surgical consults, agonizing decisions that had to be made, the long flights between Boston and L.A., the pain, a lost Summer to your ice helmet, my inability to speak, eat or play water polo for weeks, the financial challenges, AND our collective dealings with my mother - who consulted no fewer than 17 specialists before deciding you two were the best in the U.S. Communication, trust, accessibility, judgment, and great attention to detail were critical factors. You exceeded every expectation. My mom's now quick to share and explain her recommendation to others. Your decision to not to operate on my lower jaw, proves that other surgeons wanted me to take an unnecessary risk at great expense.

From professionals in Santa Barbara and Boston who have checked out my bite, jaw and teeth in the last four weeks: 'Perfect. It couldn't be any better than this' - or 'We never expected it could turn out this good doing just the upper.' As for non-professionals, comments have ranged from 'Gorgeous, what a smile' to 'You've a perfect bite.' To others it may be about looks, but to me the perfect function of my bite and maintenance of all my facial nerves. There is absolutely no nerve damage to my lips: I've played my sax and flute in two highly successful concerts, since you took out the hooks.

As a then 17 year old musician about to start at MIT, deciding to proceed with medically necessary jaw surgery and braces again was a hard one. But interviewing and selecting a team was the hardest part of the process. Knowing that one slight error could numb my mouth thereby preventing me from playing my horns again was a very scary reality that prompted consulting no fewer than 9 orthodontists and 8 surgical teams to obtain opinions, recommendations and to assess professional qualifications, experience and outcomes. There's no doubt I chose the right team. My mom required that I alone make the decision; happy I made the right choice.

I recommend you to others looking for competency, accessibility and outstanding results. I want to again thank you for accommodating my tight academic schedule: my need to fly in from Boston on Friday for appointments at your office and then in Santa Barbara before flying back on Sunday. Your making yourself available on holidays and week-ends made it possible. Having you check on me daily while at Cedars Sinai and then regularly since June 2011 was beyond expectation. I consider myself lucky that you agreed to take my case. You no doubt know by now, just how pleased everyone is with you both .
